The Town of Round Hill and the Round Hill Outdoors Committee has committed itself to educating our community about the importance of sun safety, particularly as it relates to young children. It's so important for young children to spend time outside! It's also important to learn how to care for skin at a young age in order to prevent damage or any other issues in the future. It's important to protect your skin everyday, even when it's cloudy! The best way to protect yourself is to:

Use Sunscreen

Use sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30. Look for a sunscreen that protects from both UVA and UVB rays (also known as "broad-spectrum").

Cover Up

Wear protective clothing such as a hat, sunglasses, and clothes that cover your arms and legs.

Seek Shade

Find nearby shade or shelter when the suns rays are strongest between 10 A.M. and 2 P.M.

For more information about protecting your skin, visit the American Academy of Dermatology Association or the Center for Disease Control (CDC) websites. For local Dermatology advice and information, visit our AAD Sponsor Dermatologists, Clear Dermatology in Ashburn, VA to speak with Dr. Daniel or Dr. Zelickson.
