Why celebrate the Appalachian Trail?

Following 2,190 miles of mountain ridge lines, the Appalachian National Scenic Trail (A.T.) crosses 14 states, from Maine to Georgia. It's the longest and oldest marked footpath in the country—and here in Western Loudoun we're lucky enough to have the A.T. right in our backyard.

In the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Town of Round Hill sits between two A.T. centers, Bears Den to the south and Blackburn to the north. Our inaugural festival in 2019 celebrated Round Hill's official designation as an A.T. Community, recognizing the Trail as a community asset and pledging to support ongoing Trail stewardship.

Now,  we're going to do it all again in 2023—in a new location, with a new partner. We are happy to announce that we'll be teaming with the Town of Hillsboro. a 2023-designated A.T. Community, to celebrate the A.T. and all the Great Outdoors at our new venue: The Gap Stage and Old Stone School in Hillsboro, VA.

Join us in June to listen to hiking experts and enjoy live music—plus kids' activities, an A.T.-inspired art show and more. We'll also go "hands on" again, with activities and demos like trail cooking, yoga for hikers, hammock camping...and more.

Have a couple hours to help us out? We are looking for day-of volunteers! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0848a4a728a1fa7-appalachian#/
