TOWN OF ROUND HILL SCHEDULES DRONE SURVEY OF MAIN STREET (October 21, 2019 at Noon)

Last week, VDOT notified the Town that they would be milling and paving parts of RT. 719 which includes Main Street. The Town decided to accelerate our aerial survey of Main Street in advance of this work and our Pedestrian Project beginning this Spring. The Town Council feels that documentation and communication are critical components in managing street projects: this includes documenting images of the project location before, during and after the project is complete.

The Town has contracted with Flying Fox UAV, a professional aerial data acquisition company based out of Lovettsville, Virginia. Flying Fox UAV will create a baseline map of the area to document the road and streetscape prior to VDOT milling/paving the section of road from 35 Main Street to the intersection at Loudoun Street. This company is licensed by the FAA to complete aerial surveys. The work will occur on Monday, October 21, 2019 around noon.
