2023 Western Boundary Line Adjustment

In January 1990 The Round Hill Area Management Plan was approved by the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors. The Plan developed growth management, agricultural, employment, commercial, environmental, transportation, community facilities, public utilities, historic resources, and inter-jurisdictional policies for the Greater Round Hill Planning Area. The policies for the area adjacent to the Town which was identified as the Round Hill Urban Growth Area were included and known as the Joint Land Management Area Policies. The implementation Policies for the Area Management Plan included recommendations for an Annexation Agreement between the Town of Round Hill and Loudoun County within the Round Hill Urban Growth Area.

In 2017 The Round Hill Comprehensive Plan was adopted and identified study areas within the Round Hill Urban Growth Area for possible inclusion into the Town Limits. In July of 2022 The Round Hill Town Council Held a Public Hearing regarding a Boundary Line Agreement between the Town and the County for specifically identified 18 properties adjacent to the western boundary of the existing corporate limits. On December 14, 2022 the Town and Loudoun County submitted a joint petition for a Boundary Line Adjustment to incorporate the 18 identified parcels to the Circuit Court of Loudoun County. On January 31, 2023 the Boundary Line Adjustment was approved by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

In May of 2023 the Town Council provided direction to the Town Planning Commission regarding preparation of a Western BLA Area Plan (CPAM 2023-01) which will be added to the 2017 Round Hill Comprehensive Plan. For more information on the Western BLA Area Plan please click here.
