ZOAM 2023-01

On June 14, 2023, the Round Hill Town Council adopted Resolution 2023-08. This resolution directed the Planning Commission to study a Zoning Ordinance Amendment (ZOAM 2023-01).

ZOAM 2023-01 aimed to amend Article 12 - Off Street Parking and Loading Requirements. The purpose of this article is to provide adequate off-street parking and loading areas and pedestrian facilities. It is further the intent of the regulations of Article 12 to avoid undue congestion on public streets; to protect the level of service and capacity of existing streets; to avoid unnecessary conflicts between pedestrians and vehicles; to preserve and enhance the Town and to protect the public health, safety and welfare.” CPAM 2023-01 proposed a change to Article 12.7.4 “General Design Standards in Commercial, Industrial, Institutional and Community Uses” of the Round Hill Zoning Ordinance, to remove "or setback"

“12.7.4. No required parking shall be located in any required buffer or setback.”

On July 11, 2023, the Planning Commission discussed the proposed amendment and voted to hold a Joint Public Hearing with the Town Council on September 6, 2023. 

Following the Public Hearing on September 6th, the Planning Commission voted to recommend Town Council approval of the proposed amendment to the Round Hill Zoning Ordinance. Following this recommendation the Round Hill Town Council voted to adopt ZOAM 2023-01.
